SHINE Children & Youth Services

SHINE Children and Youth Services is a registered charity that builds and enhances the resilience of our “Young-in-Development”; children and youths who are growing as individuals but who may be facing circumstantial challenges. We have been serving our “Young-in-development” and their families in Singapore since 1976 and remain committed to enabling them to maximise their potential’ to build young lives, enhances their resilience and SHINE the light of hope for their future.

Engineering Good Ltd

Engineering Good (EG) is a non-profit organisation that uses technology to create social impact: 1. We do this by addressing Digital Inclusion for the vulnerable community. At the same time, providing a home for old electronics is a great purpose of this initiative, reducing e-waste. 2. We also support Persons with Disabilities by providing them with technology solutions that would enable them to live lives of opportunity.

  • Human Resources consultant on culture building exercises and coaching for capability/leadership development

Migrasia is a tax-exempt social enterprise that fosters and incubates solutions relating to migration in Asia. Migrasia supports a range of innovative and data-driven education, technology, investigation, and research projects with the goal of eliminating forced labour and exploitation of migrant workers.

  • Support with legal issues, answering legal questions, drafting legal memos, and conducting research relating to labour exploitation

EMpower

We partner with local organisations in emerging market countries, and other change-makers, to enable marginalised young people to transform their lives and communities. With partnership at the heart of our work, EMpower learns from and with our partners, leveraging and sharing learnings from our 100 active grantee partners in 15 EM countries.

Saint Andrew's Autism Centre

St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC) is a non-profit organisation for the education, training, and care of persons with autism and their families. Autism is lifelong. At SAAC, we believe that no one should take that journey alone. And it is our hope that you'll walk alongside us and our beneficiaries in this journey across the lifespan to enable people with autism to lead dignified and meaningful lives.

Go With The Flow

Go With The Flow is an organization that aims to bridge gaps in access to menstrual healthcare in Singapore. We collect donations of menstrual healthcare products and redistribute them to any menstruator who needs it - no questions asked.


Key Asks:   
  • Accounting - setting up an accounting system that tracks inventory and cash flow

  • Marketing - advise on social media outreach plan aimed at increasing beneficiaries and donors


Foundation for Shared Impact - Community Connections

Community Connections is a Foundation for Shared Impact program that connects not-for-profit organizations and social enterprises with professionals who would like to volunteer their skills and expertise to create sustained social impact through mentoring, strategic, and operational knowledge sharing.

Surety

We are Surety, an aspiring social start-up that aims to be Singapore’s go-to, one-stop platform for everything about sexual health and wellness. Our current focus is Menopause Management targeted at mature ladies. We embrace inclusivity - hence, we are also looking into all-rounded sex education for youth and adults.

Wedu

Since 2012, Wedu has engaged a vibrant global community of gender equity allies to collectively nurture the unique, lifelong leadership journeys of 3,000 women changemakers from 28 countries across Asia. We make strides towards a world where half of all leaders are women by facilitating mentorship, leadership development training, access to opportunities, and funding for education. Our regional focus, deep experience with advancing women’s leadership, and diverse community enable us to catalyse the growth and support women require to reach their full potential and achieve their ambitions.

Halogen

Founded in 2003, Halogen Foundation (Singapore) is an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) charity focusing on building young leaders and entrepreneurs. Defining leadership and entrepreneurship as influence, Halogen Foundation believes that every young person has innate potential to influence and lead, becoming positive change-agents. By developing an entrepreneurial mindset, youths can be further equipped to contribute positively to society.

Halogen Foundation aims to make quality leadership and entrepreneurship education available to all young people regardless of background, race, income, or religion, particularly those who are disadvantaged - coming from challenging family backgrounds and/or are in need of financial assistance.

Angels of Impact

Angels of Impact was started in 2016 by a group of conscious entrepreneurs who believed that we can end poverty sustainably by investing in women led community based sustainable enterprises. We work across Asia Pacific with our presence in Singapore, US and New Zealand. Angels of Impact’s WISE program is a funding support program that brings together women-led community-based social entrepreneurs and skill-based volunteers to solve real business challenges. Limitless (Singapore)

Established in 2017, Limitless (Singapore) is a non-profit organization that provides mental health counselling for youths at risk (12-25 yrs old).

Inspiring Girls Singapore

Inspiring Girls Singapore is dedicated to raising the aspirations of girls aged 9 - 18 years old by connecting them with the incredible female role models in Singapore. It is our aim to introduce girls to the full variety of careers and options in life, help build their confidence & resilience, nurture & encourage their curiosity - and inspire them to dream big and aim high.

Swapaholic

Swapaholic is a fashion swap service that empowers consumers to declutter & refresh their closets without compromising their fashion, wallet, and our planet. We reduce the cycle of wasteful production and consumption by optimizing the excess resources that already exist in our closets’.

Swapaholics robust systems, processes and technologies have enabled us to create omni channel experiences that empower consumers to change their habits with no compromises. Today we have an online platform, swap shop and we conduct large-scale parties across Singapore. We’re also soon launching our peer-to-peer marketplace for savvy swappers to buy & sell preloved fashion with each other.

  • Support the marketing team by providing insights, suggestions, and recommendations to promote the platform to onboard sellers and buyers

  • Test our Beta Marketplace to catch bugs, catch any UI flaws, suggest UI improvements, enhancements and suggest innovative features to improve our on-site user experience

CampusImpact

CampusImpact is a Social Service Agency based in Yishun that supports children from low-income families. We believe that a strong society is built through strong children and strong families. We provide a safe physical space and engage children with nurturing adults to improve their lives through the joy of a values-led education and academic support in the hopes of preparing the next generation with positive attitudes, purposeful lives and pioneering spirits.


Key Asks:   
  • Creative and expandable minds to advice our current donation appeal methods and draft structured fundraising outlines for our upcoming initiatives.

  • Provide an audit on our existing grant proposals.

  • Ideate and develop a cost-effective and meaningful virtual / physical volunteer appreciation event suitable for current Covid-19 climate.

CampusImpact’s programmes are categorised into 6 pillars:

 

  • ImpactCare are specialised services available for our clients such as face-to-face Counselling, Art Therapy and Dance and Movement Therapy, providing a safe alternative for our clients to manage their emotions and anxiety.
 
  • ImpactEd consists of the H.E.L.P: Helping. Educating. Leading. Parents. programme where we provide parents and practitioners with community support in their parenting journey through talks, workshops, forums, and online webinars. Through this initiative, those who work with young people can gain effective skills and knowledge to strengthen and restore relationships in the family and support children to grow strong.
 
  • ImpactFamily are services we provide to families such as through our Parents Advisory Helpline – a free counselling service available in English and Mandarin that helps parents resolve conflicts with their children and parents who are dealing with their children’s behavioural issues.
 
  • ImpactFul consists of centre-based programmes with a fruitful curriculum, presence of understanding adults as role models and guidance within a loving environment such as our Study Buddy programme and Learning Curve Education programme.
 
  • ImpactReach are outreach programmes out of our centre such as Study Buddy Plus at ComLink@Marsiling, After School Engagement in Schools and Mental Health Workshops.
 
  • SG Cares VC @ Yishun is a community-based organisation appointed by MCCY, to grow and coordinate volunteerism efforts at the town-level and facilitate partnerships to bridge the gap between community needs and resources.

WISE - Wash in Southeast Asia

Established in 2015, WISE’s mission is to protect the environment, improve water, sanitation, and hygiene conditions, develop skills for future employment, and support better lives for migrant workers. The programmes that we offer are community development, behaviour change, capacity building, and research.

WISE has been contributing to a sustainable vision of Southeast Asia with the support of 400-plus staff, interns and volunteers, as well as project partners and donors. Since launching with a project in Indonesia, WISE’s programs have also expanded to Cambodia and Singapore.

 

Ocean Purpose Project (Singapore)

Ocean Purpose Project is a proudly Pasir Ris-based social enterprise driving ocean conservation and plastic pollution prevention via disruptive and creative projects with mass-scale impact.

CARE Singapore

CARE’s mission is to help youths succeed. Every person is useful and has something positive to contribute. At-risk youths can be social assets instead of social liabilities. By being there for those who need a little more support, CARE can help change their future. Archimedes famously said, Give me a fulcrum and I will move the world. CARE’s chosen fulcrum is working with AT-RISK YOUTHS.

Key Asks:

  • To dialog, find common areas of alignment, complementary skills and interest to meet the social needs in the areas we serve.
  • We are a boutique-sized youth serving agency that has been primarily involved in social based social work for over 20 years. In the last few years, we have made a conscious effort to utilize our capabilities and organisational knowledge to introduce community projects to benefit more young persons. As many of the areas are new, we hope to get insights and also professional advice so that we can impact the lives of more people and also rise up to address the youth mental wellbeing issues. As the centre of specialisation in youth empowerment appointed by NCSS, we feel we have a moral duty to do more and to extend ourselves.

Since the founding in 1997, CARE has touched over 30,000 youths, trained over 3,000 teachers & parents, and generated over 130,000 volunteer hours for over 6,000 volunteers. The scores of success stories are CARE’s proudest achievements.

EMpower - The Emerging Markets Foundation

EMpower supports and works closely with local, dedicated organisations in emerging market countries focused on solutions that integrate the voices and experiences of marginalised young people (age 10-24).

  • Looking for expertise in fundraising and business development in creating funding sources.

EMpower recognises disadvantage takes multiple forms, and that girls, young women and non-binary youth often face the most discrimination. For these reasons and importantly, to most effectively support young people’s felt needs and future pathways, EMpower is committed to approaching its work through an intersectional lens.

Rare Disorders Society

Rare Disorders Society (Singapore) is a non-profit organisation initiated by parents of children with LSD (Lysosomal Storage Disorder). Established in 2011, it aims to create awareness about various life threatening rare diseases (RD). Rare Disorders Society (Singapore) is currently the only organisation focusing and supporting only on rare disease patients in Singapore. Unlike other charities that focus on specific disease group or made rare genetic disease as one of the supported group, RDSS accept and support ALL patients currently diagnosed with rare diseases, including those undiagnosed cases.

  • Looking to network with like-minded individuals, to raise the awareness on rare disorders within the society and raise funds to support it's cause.

RDSS is currently offering emotional, counselling and financial support to children, family or friends with rare diseases in Singapore. RDSS provides support networks and resources to positively impact affected patients and families and we hope to build a center of excellence for patients and their families.

Our objectives are to improve the lives of patients and their families who have been diagnosed with a rare or ultra-rare disease. We aim to raise the profile of rare diseases among the health authorities, health services and drug manufactures to improve research and development of orphan drugs. The charity understands the fight on a deep personal level and keep in mind the needs of our community at all time. 

SGAssist

SG Assist is a social enterprise focusing on creating positive social impact through technology. Our key innovation is a digital community platform (mobile app) which crowdsources nearby Community Responders (aka Kampong Heroes) to provide timely, affordable assistance to the dependents of working caregivers, meeting the needs of the dependents at home; and thus giving the working caregivers peace of mind at their workplace.

Key Asks:

  • Looking for expertise in business support (marketing, business development), forming advisory board etc.
  • Looking forward to learning from experts and find ways to do better, meeting like minded people.

SG Assist empowers working caregivers with timely and affordable assistance for their loved ones at home, through a digital app connecting them to Community Volunteers near their home when they are away.

Waterways Society

Waterways Watch Society (WWS) is a non-governmental and non-profit environmental organisation, committed to foster appreciation and promote conservation of the environment, especially the waterways in Singapore. Established since 1998 with only 27 members, WWS has grown to about 500 volunteers today, with ages ranging between 5 to 80 years old and with people from all walks of life.

Key Asks:

  • Looking foward to connecting with more corporates and entice them to participate in our CSR Programmes and support our cause.
  • Looking for expertise to professionalise our marketing and branding for the organisation, e.g. manage and revamp our website.

Inspired by the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s efforts to clean up the Singapore River and Kallang Basin in the 1970s, the initial focus of Waterways Watch Society’s environmental cause was to keep Singapore’s waterways clean and safe for all to enjoy by organising voluntary clean-up patrols on the weekends. Over the past two decades, the mission has broadened beyond clean-up patrols to include providing environmental educational programmes to spread awareness on the importance of keeping the waterways clean and safe and rally individuals to do their part for environment.

Upmart

Our mission is to be a platform for like-minded individuals who love to create, sew, handcraft and upcycle. These individuals include special needs, low income, homemakers, and hobbyists. Products are handmade with love and we are passionate about waste reduction and sustainability. We work with and donate 15% of our gross sales revenue to charity. This year, we are giving to the Children's Aid Society and Focus on the Family Singapore.

The idea of starting this social enterprise came about when our founder, Diana Ong received a few old crystal chandeliers to raise funds for 2 children’s homes.

 

Upmart is a member of raiSE, Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise.

 

Our mission is to be a platform for like-minded individuals who love to create, sew, handcraft and upcycle. These individuals include special needs, low income, homemakers and hobbyists. Products are handmade with love and we are passionate about waste reduction and sustainability. We work with and donate 15% of our gross sales revenue to charity.

 

Our constant challenge is to find an equilibrium between economic value and social value; to strike a balance of profitability and social impact.

 

 

World Toilet Organization

Founded on 19 November 2001, World Toilet Organization (WTO) is a global non-profit committed to improving toilet and sanitation conditions worldwide. WTO empowers individuals through education, training and building local marketplace opportunities to advocate for clean and safe sanitation facilities in their communities. Our mission is to continue to build the global sanitation movement through collaborative action that inspires and drives demand for sanitation, and provides innovative solutions to achieve sustainable sanitation for all.
