When and why did you join Foundation for Shared Impact (FSI)?
I joined the Foundation for Shared Impact (FSI) in August 2024 after being inspired by its active social media presence and the numerous stories highlighting its mission to promote collaboration and create impactful solutions for social and environmental challenges. I was seeking a change in direction and environment, as well as a culture where I could engage in meaningful work. I was looking for a career that allowed me to use my voice, skills, knowledge, and experience to make a positive impact.
This role has provided me with the opportunity to work alongside talented, passionate, and caring individuals who dedicate their time and efforts to positively impacting communities that align with my values and aspirations. Being part of FSI has enabled me to contribute my skills to various initiatives that promote growth and empowerment. I am incredibly grateful to work alongside such wonderful people at the Foundation—my FSI family—and I feel fortunate every day to be part of this dynamic team.

Do FSI’s vision and mission align with your personal values? If yes, in what ways?
Yes, FSI is deeply committed to creating and developing innovative and sustainable solutions that promote equity and inclusivity within our society. FSI values transparency and accountability in all aspects of its programs and operations with a belief that every individual deserves a voice and the opportunity to learn, thrive, grow, and succeed. Being part of a foundation that prioritizes social impact and shared responsibility, aligns well with my own personal values and inspires me to contribute meaningfully to make a positive impact in society and in the world.
What is your role and what are your responsibilities? What are your aspirations for your role and the organization?
In my current role, I serve as the Program Manager for the HSBC Scholarship Partnership Program and manage the Hub for the Future community. This vibrant community consists of university students and professionals who are current or former recipients of HSBC scholarships with a mission to build a network of future-ready leaders for Hong Kong and empower them to become a positive force for good in Asia.
My primary responsibilities include promoting, marketing, and developing the scholarship scheme, as well as planning, organizing, and driving activities for the Hub. I also manage projects and facilitate communication. This role allows me to engage in all aspects of educational marketing, engagement, and communications.

I aspire to continually broaden my skills and expertise so that I can contribute more significantly to this initiative and foster creative solutions that drive impact. As for the organization, I hope to see it grow and expand its reach, positively influencing more lives and communities. I aim to play a part in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships that enhance our resources and capabilities, ensuring that we remain effective and responsive to the challenges we face.
How do you find your work and the company culture at FSI so far?
I find my work at FSI to be both fulfilling and engaging. I am constantly learning new things, including new technologies, from my colleagues as well as from our client (HSBC). My involvement spans multiple areas such as recruitment, marketing, project management, event management, digital marketing, branding, and communications. This diverse work aligns closely with my skills, goals, and passions, providing me with a strong sense of purpose and motivation.
I appreciate the opportunities for professional development and the chance to engage further with the Hub so that community members can contribute meaningfully to our mission. I would describe the culture at FSI as friendly, inclusive, collaborative, and dynamic, which keeps my mind constantly engaged. The emphasis on teamwork and open communication makes it easy to share ideas, collaborate, and seek support and advice when needed. I also value the team’s commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. This kind of culture fosters creativity and makes it a great place to learn and grow alongside my colleagues. Overall, my experience has been positive, and I’m grateful to be a part of the FSI family.

Were there any memorable moments (e.g., the time spent with your colleagues, learning, inspiration etc.)?
Our learning sessions at FSI go beyond just skill acquisition and learning; they are filled with group activities and discussions that make learning enjoyable, fun, and effective. Our team meetings often take place during lunch hour, bringing everyone together weekly. These meetings bring about friendly conversations, shared stories, and occasionally, light-hearted debates, all of which help strengthen our bonds. Our coffee catch-ups provide an opportunity for more informal chats, allowing us to support one another and share both professional and personal updates, creating a strong sense of camaraderie.
The most memorable moment for me was when the team came together to surprise me on a very special occasion, which was truly touching. Be it a team member’s birthday or a significant project completion—this brings everyone together for a clap of hands, reinforcing the team spirit. FSI truly values each team member! Team gatherings involve dinners or casual get-togethers, and these events are filled with laughter, games, and team-building activities, often leading to fun memories and deeper connections.

Tell us a bit more about yourself – your hobbies, self-care routine, passion etc.?
My hobbies include working out at F45 Gym every morning to build my physical strength. In the evenings, I practice Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga to enhance my mental well-being and ensure a restful night’s sleep. While gym workouts provide me with an adrenaline rush, yoga helps me stay grounded and balanced.
I have a passion for art, music, dance, nutrition, and travel. Recently, I developed an interest in illustrating and creating coloring books for children. In my free time, I also volunteer at a local school in Hong Kong, where I lead the Basic English Education program (BEE). This program emphasizes the importance of five human values: love, truth, peace, non-violence, and right conduct, which I teach to primary school children. My self-care routine is quite simple, and I firmly believe in the saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away!”

In your opinion, what is needed to build a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient society?
In my opinion, understanding, education, and awareness play critical roles in fostering a sustainable, equitable, and resilient society. These elements encourage appreciation for diverse perspectives and illuminate the challenges faced by different communities. Cultivating understanding provides valuable insights into complex issues, while education and awareness equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to adopt and implement sustainable practices effectively.
What is the best thing about being Dina Pesumal right now?
