What is Shared Impact?

Early-stage social businesses often lack the resources and knowledge to grow and scale. By creating a community that shares knowledge, resources, and network, new social ventures can grow much faster without going through the same barriers. They can then bring assets back to strengthen the community.

With this form of community, corporate philanthropic resources can be channeled much more effectively, which eventually can create bigger social impact.

How Do We Measure Impact?

Our goal is to ensure that purpose-driven companies scale faster and have greater commercial success while also achieving greater social impact. We measure success by closely looking at our work and how it is enabling and accelerating the Shared-Impact ecosystem in the region.

What People Are Saying

When I received the email about the SVM Course, I immediately knew I wanted to join the course because I wanted to be involved with something different and something real, while being able to create positive social impact. I was especially drawn to FSI because I have an entrepreneurial background, and was inspired by FSI’s work, which is in close connection to small start-ups and giving them support.

Jane Lee Interned with FSI in 2019

We’ve been working with FSI now for about two years, and we are so grateful to be partners with them, because their program, SVM Course, offers HKU interns to our company every single semester, and these interns were able to offer us different insights, new fresh perspectives, and really help grow OWN Academy to reach the impact that we want. So really grateful and we look forward to FSI growing, and to making more impact in the social entrepreneurship space.

The 24 Hour Race would not be where it is today without the student internship program with FSI. The hours, resources, and work that the students have done for the 24 Hour Race throughout the years has allowed our charity to grow and expand to new cities and markets. We are incredibly thankful to FSI and hope to continue our partnership for many years to come.
