FSI x Mums@PLAY Partnership to Support Mompreneurs in Hong Kong

We are delighted to announce that Foundation for Shared Impact (FSI) has entered into a mutually beneficial partnership with Mums@PLAY, a platform that offers mompreneurs an opportunity and a common space to talk about their products or services through bazaars and empowers them through workshops related to business management.

Read our conversation with Mehroo Turel, Founder of Mums@PLAY and a Professional Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation, and Vivian Seo, Executive Director of FSI, to learn more about the two parties’ shared mission and their aspirations for the partnership.

Why did Mums@PLAY and FSI enter into a partnership?

Mehroo: We want to leverage our shared mission of supporting small businesses and mompreneurs in Hong Kong. This partnership allows Mums@PLAY to provide a platform for mothers in business to showcase their products and services, while FSI can enhance its commitment to uncovering and promoting unique local shops.

Together, we aim to work with FSI to create a supportive community that fosters entrepreneurship, encourages networking, and offers affordable opportunities for exposure, ultimately benefiting both businesses and consumers in the region.

Vivian: This is a partnership that aligns with FSI’s ethos of shared impact philosophy – we believe in the power of community compounding as we share resources and knowledge with more people.

FSI has developed our community of budding and growing entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds in the past three years, and Mums@PLAY has built its own vibrant community of mom entrepreneurs and their allies. Expanding and combining the two communities means more room for collaboration, sharing of resources and knowledge, and peer support for Hong Kong’s entrepreneurs.

What does this partnership entail for Mums@PLAY, FSI, and their respective community partners?

Mehroo: Greater visibility, networking opportunities, access to more events, resource sharing, and community building.

Vivian: Female entrepreneurs in the FSI community – especially mom entrepreneurs – now have another support group that shares similar experiences and can support each other. We’re also looking forward to running workshops and events together with Mums@PLAY to expand the scope of business support and personal development that can be accessed by our community members.

What are Mums@PLAY’s and FSI’s aspirations for this partnership?

Mehroo: There are five main aspirations for this partnership.

  • Empowerment: Enhance the success and visibility of mompreneurs and women entrepreneurs.
  • Community Building: Foster a supportive network for collaboration and inspiration.
  • Opportunities: Create more avenues for showcasing founders along with their products and services.
  • Business Growth: Support the sustainability of small businesses in Hong Kong.
  • Local Promotion: Highlight and promote unique local offerings in local languages.

Vivian: We aspire for this partnership to enable both FSI and Mums@PLAY to host more collaborative, visible, and larger-scale online and offline events and activities to raise the visibility of the small-business entrepreneurs that we support. We would like to show how, by sharing resources and combining platforms, everyone can really benefit from a win-win relationship, fostering mutually beneficial collaboration rather than competition.
